Lillian Likes...

Lillian likes:
~Mookay. Mookay is 'Mercy' in 10mo. old baby language. Lillian is always looking for her, laughing at her antics (even if she is only laying on the couch asleep), and checking on her when Mercy is resting in her cage. She has learned to recognize the sound of Mercy's collar from the other dogs and becomes wildly excited when she hears it.
~Bop. Bop is Lillian's stuffed giraffe that she sleeps with. She called it Bop for a week, and the name stuck. It has become her ultimate calming toy and when it is handed to her, she immediately assumes the sleeping position of snuggling it close to her face, with her thumb in her mouth.
~Yogurt Chasers. For 'snack' some days Lillian is given cheerios and I will feed her yogurt. She has developed the habit of shoving a cheerio into her mouth and waiting with her mouth open (for surprisingly long amounts of time) for a spoon full of yogurt to go with it. This is her preferred way of eating cheerios.
~Cell Phones. A true child of the modern generation, Lillian LOVES cell phones. Her grandparents bought her a toy cell phone and it is a wonderful toy that will keep her occupied for up to 15 minutes all by itself. She has a stuffed 'traditional' phone receiver and I laugh because she has no idea what the thing is. I don't know that she's ever interacted near a regular land line phone.
~Music. Lillian has music in her soul. For months now she has been 'dancing' (of the baby variety of course) to music. She was playing with my husbands cell phone and I called it. When the ring tone began she immediately began dancing and waving her arms to the music. We went to see Aunt Lydi's dance performance and Lillian danced and waved her arms in the air when the music played.
~Books. Book was her first word. Since she was tiny(...I suppose she could still qualify) she would sit in my lap and let me read to her for long periods of time. She has graduated to helping me turn the pages and sometimes reading a page back to me, or sitting by herself and turning the pages and looking at the pictures on her own. What fun!
