Venting
I just need to say that it took over 5 hours to complete the post below! No wonder I don't blog. Between putting babies down for naps, getting others up from naps, potty trips, hungry bellies, etc. I can't get a thought together. So, please allow for the many duplicate words, misspellings, and incomplete thoughts. Now to feed this crew...
One & Two, Skip Three, Then Four
Our home is stabilizing. With the addition of any family member, there is an adjustment period for everyone involved. It seems that this round was more difficult for everyone (except our precious new arrival) and we have spent the majority of the last two months crying, laughing, taking necessary breaks in the tubbie with the fan on so we can't hear any of the plentiful cries for Mama, and other various forms of building family togetherness. So, in lue of filling in all the details of said previous two months, I will relay the present, and possibly find the mental ability to post on the insanity later...hopefully not months later, as seems to be my habit of late.
Talon is a dream. He is lovely, sweet, tender, and happy. Nearing 9 weeks old he has become a dream baby with nary a crying spell lasting longer than 30 minutes. In truth, the only time he really gets unhappy is when he is hungry or the first five minutes in his car seat. While he could still bear the label of 'concerned' he is quick to forget sudden noises and responds to the boisterous sibling heads magically popping into view with a smile and giggle. Yes he giggles in his own sort of way. He also sings. He calms quickly when I sing him his little song and returns with his own adorable ballad of coos and twinkly smiles. Love.
Dear Talon, You are my Son. I love you deeper than you will ever know. You are a delight, precious, and so very appreciated. I was speaking with your Daddy about how we would never have chosen to get pregnant so quickly, but we are both so ridiculously happy that the Lord didn't leave it up to us. The thought of missing out on you breaks my heart. I praise the Lord that He saw fit to give you to us. It doesn't hurt that you are such an easy baby. You are usually happy, easy to sooth, observant (if not concerned), and genuinely chill. I think the Lord knew we needed a baby like you. I have been asked many times if 'having a boy' has been different. And while I don't see a difference in the love I feel for my babies, there is a difference between the first and third baby. I am more calm and easy going. I don't mind getting up in the middle of the night to feed you. I don't mind feeling mind-numbingly tired in those first months because I know how precious my time with you is. You have already, along with your sisters, taught me that my time is so precious, and short. It races faster than I can process and the joys of being your Mama have obliterated the normal frustrations of parenthood. It is my deepest prayer and desire that you would learn about and take to heart the things of God. It is a hard world for a man of God to grow in and I pray daily against the forces of this world on your behalf. May you gain wisdom, courage, and compassion. These things are found in the Lord, as I pray you will be.
Lillian is four years old! She has blossomed into a sharp, funny, sensitive, passionate little girl, and she is tall! I pull her into my lap and marvel at how long she is. We have occasional glimpses of what it may be like to have a teenager, but for the most part she loves to pretend, make jokes, and dress up her babies or play tea party. Lillian can be very serious and like many firstborns, a bit on the... 'instructive' and perfectionist side. She delegates play roles, speaking lines and motivation. She could easily work in Hollywood as a film director. I like to say 'She has vision'. Lillian still loves to read and that has become a special time for the girls and Mama as they become more accustomed to sharing time with Talon.
My Beautiful Grace, We have struggled these last few months, but we seem to be coming into a period of understanding. You want to be heard, understood, and know that we are listening. While often times downright contrary and demanding, you can still be so very sweet, loving, and eager to be included in any form of fun. You like things a certain way. While the Lord can use a decisive and visionary young lady, it must be tempered with compassion for others' feeling. He can give us both a heart for others. My prayer is that you will know the Lord, and that we can grow as women of God together. You are precious, beautiful, delightful and a hoot. You're clever observations keep us laughing. You challenge my heart with how sharp you are. You think about things, think them through. I feel kindred to how pensive you often are. You and I are thinkers, analyzers, planners. I pray the Lord will teach you to hold all your thoughts and feelings against the rock of truth in the Bible. Women like us must learn to speak to our own hearts, and not just listen the steady stream that can pour through our minds. Remind yourself of the Truth you have been taught. It will guide you and protect you.
My Precious Darling Wren, you are always bringing such a smile to my face. You are passionate about all things. You love all the way and are quick both to laugh and express displeasure. You are active and spend all of your wake time moving. So much passion, energy and life packed into a petite blue eyed bundle. I pray that your zest for life will lead you to Christ. May you know him and surrender your appetites to Him. I pray you will know Him and all that He has for you. Jesus loves you my sweet little energizer. You are uniquely wonderful to Him and He desires for you to be His. I adore how you take on the world with twinkly eyes and a ready smile. You are quick to forgive, quick to apologize, quick to make a joke of it all. May the Lord use your gracious heart to bless His kingdom and everyone you meet. It is a gift to be able to forgive and forget so easily. You are tender, lovely, and precious.

Easter 2012 Fourth Birthday
Wren. Oh sweet, wonderful Wren. When I try to describe Wren is find myself just smiling and giggling. She is so many things packed into a petite, albeit tall, little package. In the last few months her conversation has exploded and I feel as if my baby girl has become a true kid. Wren loves being silly, and is quick to laugh at herself. She revels in life, people, singing, food, and paci's. Her one true love in life is her Paci/Blanket combo. She laughs manically in the evening when she asks for, and is granted, her paci and purple butterfly blanket. She will amble around the house, pushing her baby in a pram, singing parts of Jesus Loves Me, and occasionally disciplining her baby for his disobedience. She'll make a lovely mother someday. Wren loves her people. She is quick to say thank you, bless sneezes, and ask if you are feeling better if you've been sick. Sweet, tender, Wren. She also loves shoes. Big shoes, little shoes, pink shoes, blue shoes, Wren holds no bias. Have you noticed I write 'Wren loves' a lot? She either loves it or hates it. She is passionate on all accounts, whether it's the choice between milk or water to drink, or if she falls down and hits her head on the tile, you always get all of Wren.
