Early

It is early. Not at this precise moment that I find myself writing, but early was acquired hours ago, before the sun had fully lit up the morning sky. Early mornings are not completely rare in our home these days, partially because my husband wakes at 6 every morning to go to work (and thus waking Hapa with his infernally loud alarm clock), but sleeping these days is something of a chore. By morning I fell achy, and restless from rolling from side to side, lugging my heft to the bathroom in the dark, and aspiring to fall asleep again with the 'gentle' lull of my husband's rest full slumber. So, if sleep alludes me more than a few minutes, I get up.

This particular morning I found time to listen to more of MacArthur's sermon study on the role of women. Is there anyone out there who finds the design of man and woman understatedly beautiful? It is so easy to forget, or de-value, the awesome gift we have as women, wives, and mama's to build up our homes. The 'world' is quick to tell us we are not the right shape, not using our time or talents to their fullest, that we deserve more than a subservient existence in the home of a man. God is so good to set it strait. We are designed with hearts that love to love, hands that love to soothe and care, and mental focus to pray with fervency. We are designed to bless with gentleness, kindness, love, steady (prayerful) force, and joy. I just wanted to give a blessed shout out to all my ladies out there who have chosen to be God's absolute best woman. May we choose to live daily in the role created for us to bring Him His fullest Glory.

  1. Love this, Kri-C! God's design for wives/mommas is so much more beautiful and fulfilling than anything the world could ever (or has ever) come up with. Thanks for this reminder.
